About us

We provide flexible, accessible, Cambridge education to all kinds of adult learners.

Learning is a right that should be available to everyone, everywhere, at every stage in life. That was the radical belief that drove our founders over 150 years ago. And still drives us today.

Cambridge. But not as you might know it

We support learners of all levels, learning goals and backgrounds. Wherever they are in the world. Because we believe in education for a lifetime. Meeting learners where they’re at. And helping them get where they want to go.

With us, thousands of students gather online and in person to learn from the best and join a vibrant global community. Whether your goals are personal improvement, studying for the first time since school, or enhancing your professional qualifications, we’re here for you.

What we do

We’re the University of Cambridge’s largest and longest-standing provider of part-time education. And yet we’re independent from its College and School system. This gives us uniquely-wide access to its knowledge, resources and academics. We harness that collective excellence to inspire and inform our hundreds of courses and programmes, from in-person weekend courses to part-time Master's degrees.

Many of our courses are open-entry, so you can come learn with us whatever your educational journey to date. And we offer bursaries and concessions for many subjects and course types, to help you fund your learning journey. Ready to learn? We look forward to welcoming you.

A new name. Same accessible education

Like our learners, we continue to strive and grow. Formerly known as the Institute of Continuing Education (ICE), we’re now proud to call ourselves Professional and Continuing Education (PACE), in line with our evolving course portfolio and identity. And we’ve updated our website and communications to better reflect our values of access, community and growth.

But has anything else changed? Our mission to make Cambridge learning available to every kind of learner, at every stage of adult life, remains the same. As does our commitment. We continue to develop our range of courses and how we deliver them, so that more people can access high-quality education. We’re always improving the support we offer to help learners to reach their goals. And as ever, we put our learners and our dynamic peer-learning community, at the heart of everything we do.

If you're a prospective, current or former student, please know that our new brand will not create any disruption to your application, learning or connection to our community. Have a query about what our name change might mean for your documentation or the communications you receive from us? Get in touch.
