Biography
Anita is a Consultant Gastroenterologist at Hinchingbrooke Hospital, part of North West Anglia Foundation Trust, where she is also Regional Sub-Dean for the School of Clinical Medicine, University of Cambridge. In this role she is responsible for the overall educational experience of Cambridge medical students on placement, in addition to teaching in the clinical environment and classroom. She is involved in examining and marking various elements of the Cambridge course. She is the Year 6 clinical course coordinator at the School of Clinical Medicine, University of Cambridge.
Anita was previously the Royal College Tutor for medicine at Hinchingbrooke, involved in organising post-graduate training.
With colleagues, Anita developed and ran an HEEoE approved training course for education and clinical supervisors in the region. She currently teaches on the postgraduate certificate in medical education (PGCME), having previously taught on the postgraduate diploma in medical education (PGDME) and been tutor on both the PGCME and PGDME. She was the Mentoring Lead for the British Society of Gastroenterology from 2021-2023.
In June 2023 she was awarded a Pilkington Prize for Teaching Excellence by the University of Cambridge.
Anita holds an MD in basic science and a Masters in Medical Education (MSt). She is a Senior Fellow of the Higher Education Academy. She is a Bye-Fellow at Fitzwilliam College, University of Cambridge.
