Biography
Caterina Cinel is a tutor in the Cognitive Psychology Certificate at University of Cambridge Professional and Continuing Education. She is also a Lecturer at the University of Essex, where she investigates multisensory integration, cognitive augmentation and brain-computer interfaces for decision making. You can find about her research profile on Google Scholar.
As a teacher, she believes that there must be a strong link between research and education: a teacher’s own experience and knowledge in their particular research field will enhance and enrich the students’ learning experience. Also, research-led education gives students the opportunity to experience research themselves.
She also finds that to actively involve students in learning is invaluable. From designing and conducting small experiments, or analysing real data, to simple activities and discussions based on particular aspects of research or theory.
