Biography

Dr Monrose is a researcher at the University of Cambridge in the Department of Sociology, and a Fellow and tutor at Wolfson college Cambridge. Kenny has many years experience in teaching, supervising and examining undergraduate, post-graduate and doctoral  students in the areas of Sociology, Behavioural Sciences and Criminology & Criminal Justice.

He is the lead researcher for  the Black British Voices Project at the University of Cambridge which is  the largest study ever conducted of Black people in Britain which tackles the question ‘what does it really mean to be Black in Britain today’? This study captured the voices  of  over 10,000 people  across Britain, and conducted in collaboration with prominent media, marketing and corporate entities in order to deliver a baseline dataset that can be untilled for strategies geared to deliver anti- racist policy and practice. Kenny was the Co- chair of the Race Equality Network at the University of Cambridge and is the convener of the REACH (Race, Equality, and Cultural Heritage) research hub at Wolfson College Cambridge.

Kenny is a member of the centre for the study in global human movement at the University of Cambridge, and an affiliated academic staff member at Cambridge Film & Screen at the University of Cambridge. Kenny is full Fellow of the Royal Society of Arts.
