Biography
Hello, I am a Postdoctoral Research Associate at the Centre for Natural Material Innovation (CNMI). My work is based around the theme of sustainability, drawing inspiration from nature to improve the performance of bio-based textiles. It forms part of Horizon Europe’s UPWEARS project, which focuses on sustainability for smart wearables and equipment for sport. I was very interested in the work of PACE as I am a firm believer that scientists have a responsibility to communicate their findings to the wider public.
Before joining CNMI, I completed an undergraduate degree in Materials Science at the University of Oxford. My master’s project looked at the structure-function relationships within pig knee’s. After this I joined the Cambridge Centre for Medical Materials (CCMM) for my PhD, where I investigated the use of 3D printing for redesigned biodegradable coronary stents manufactured out of Polylactic acid (PLA).
