Biography
I am a Course Director for the PACE International Summer Programme and an Assistant Tutor on the Undergraduate Certificate in the History of Art: Early Modern to Contemporary. I started my academic research career in cognitive science but, after several years working in public service, I took a doctorate in art history as a mature student and completed my thesis, on British printmaking from 1945 to 1960, at the University of Birmingham in 2021. I have since published on pioneer arts television, post-war curation and on intermodern lithography, and pursue research in art democratisation and marginalised art media. Teaching adults is one of my greatest pleasures, and as well as teaching classes to university level-learners at the Universities of Birmingham, Cambridge and elsewhere, I have led courses and events in a wide range of community settings.
