Biography
I am a philosopher of science and technology, specialising in the aesthetics of science, the nature of creativity, and feminist perspectives on science and technology. I am currently a Course Director for two Undergraduate Certificates in Philosophy at the University of Cambridge Professional and Continuing Education. I am also a Senior Teaching Associate at the Leverhulme Centre for the Future of Intelligence where I teach on the MSt in AI Ethics and Society. Further to these roles, I am a ByeFellow at Newnham College, where I support with teaching and tutoring. I studied History and Philosophy of Science and Technology for my BSc and MA at the University of Athens, after which I pursued a PhD in Philosophy at the University of Bristol. I have been teaching this subject and researching for 15 years, having taught in leading Universities across the globe, from Austria, Germany, the UK, to Greece, China and Australia. I really enjoy discussing philosophy with broad range of individuals and thoroughly enjoy all the different perspectives and expertness life long learners bring to our discussions. When it comes to research, I have been developing a number of projects, exploring aesthetic values in science, the epistemology of scientific experimentation, feminist perspectives on science and technology and more recently ethical issues within AI development. I am the author of Duhem and Holism (2021), published with Cambridge University Press, and co-editor of The Aesthetics of Science: Beauty, Imagination and Understanding (2020) and The Aesthetics of Scientific Experiments (2023). My research projects have been recognised with a number of honours, including the American Philosophical Association's Public Philosophy Op-Ed prize for my Aeon piece The Beautiful Experiment, and the Routledge, Taylor and Francis Prize for my article What is a Beautiful Experiment?.
