Biography
I have over two decades of experience in management and technology, including the design, development and delivery of course and programme specifications, programme management and research. This spans change management, leadership, strategy, knowledge management, research methods, information systems, technology management and informatics. As a senior academic, I built upon this foundation to lead major projects in health informatics and management, delivering successful outcomes with stakeholders in the UK, Canada, Malaysia, South Africa, the UAE, Nigeria, Oman and Finland. I have published nine academic books, over 100 peer-reviewed articles, and have been invited to speak at leading institutions internationally. My cancer screening project was recognised as one of the UK's 100 ground-breaking research achievements (Big Ideas for the Future, Research Councils UK, 2011).
I have consulted and taught for major organisations including the World Bank and Emirates Airline, and also teach on behalf of the London School of Economics and Political Science. I have held visiting roles in cities including Chicago, Toronto, Dubai, Doha and Singapore. My teaching approach is highly interactive, drawing on techniques such as the flipped classroom, case studies and storytelling. I aim to combine academic rigour with commercial relevance and was recognised with a Teaching Excellence Award.
