Biography

Zainab Titus is a machine learning geoscientist whose work focuses on applying artificial intelligence methods to address energy challenges. She earned her PhD in Earth Science and Engineering from Imperial College London, where her research explored data-driven modelling of geothermal reservoirs to promote sustainable energy development. She has contributed to industry projects in Earth Science and Engineering, applying machine learning techniques to solve real-world challenges in energy exploration, subsurface reservoir modelling, and sustainable resource management. She has also been involved in teaching postgraduate machine learning and data science courses remotely and in-person, helping to equip the next generation of researchers and professionals in applying computational methods to solve complex problems. Zainab leads initiatives aimed at expanding access to science and digital skills for disadvantaged communities and underrepresented groups. 

Drawing on her experience in applying machine learning in research, teaching, outreach, and industry, Zainab brings a combination of theoretical concepts and practical foundation for teaching artificial intelligence techniques.
