Lin Coghlan is from Dublin. She trained at the Rose Bruford College. Her writing for the theatre includes Apache Tears for Clean Break, winner of the Peggy Ramsey Award, Kingfisher Blue at the Bush, Mercy and Waking at the Soho Theatre and The Miracle at the National Theatre. She has written many plays for companies with strong community relationships including Theatre Centre, Red Ladder, Clean Break, and Half Moon Young People’s Theatre. Her screenplay First Communion Day (BBC Films) was Winner of the Dennis Potter Play of the Year Award, and Some Dogs Bite (Kindle Entertainment/BBC) winner of the Audience Prize at the Nantes Film Festival. She has numerous credits on British and Irish television alongside many dramatisations for BBC Radio 4. For three years Lin worked as lead writer on Lionhead Studios gaming experience ‘Milo and Kate’. Her adaptation of The Forsyte Saga opened at The Park Theatre in London in October 2024 and will transfer to the Royal Shakespeare Company in December.
