Biography
Hi, I'm Toby Fenwick, and I teach on the Certificate and Diploma in International Relations, and convene courses on the laws of war and human rights for PACE and the International Summer School. Professionally, I am a civil servant, with a background in international relations, development and trade. I was an RAF reserve intelligence officer, and ran defence and foreign policy for the CentreForum thinktank 2013-15.
I was lucky enough to have taken the MSt in International Relations at Cambridge, and through this became associated with Cambridge PACE. I'm delighted to teach PACE students partly as a method of giving back but mostly because PACE students life experience makes them a challenging audience with interesting and challenging perspectives on the material. Having done all of my post-graduate work part-time, I'm very aware of the sacrifices you and your families are making as you pursue your studies with us. Congratulations, it's a big commitment.
As well as my MSt, I hold an international law LLM from UCL, an LLB(Hons) from Birkbeck, University of London, an MSc in international relations and government from LSE, and a BA(Hons) in political science from Middlebury College, Vermont, USA; I've also just completed a PG Cert in history from Oxford, if that's (just about) allowed.
