For Catherine, a technology consultant, coaching offered a powerful new lens for working with people; one she was eager to integrate into her daily practice. She chose the Undergraduate award: Certificate in Coaching at University of Cambridge Professional and Continuing Education (PACE) for its practical focus, expert teaching, and strong academic foundation.

“The curriculum gives a solid introduction to the topic of coaching, and the tutors are all experienced coaches with a lot to teach,” she said.

Although Catherine began the course with a basic understanding of coaching, she quickly expanded her knowledge and confidence. “The course has taught me much more about the different philosophies and approaches that exist, how to think about integrating them into my practice, and how to understand the research literature so that I can be evidence based.”

She has already seen the impact of her learning in her professional environment. “This course has really helped me to understand what coaching is, and how I can use a coaching approach not just in dedicated sessions, but regularly in conversations throughout the day, to help my clients and colleagues do their best at work,” she said. “It has been satisfying to see the great results my clients have achieved.”

Her advice to others considering the programme is simple: “Go for it! Diving back into education can be daunting, but learning new skills is worth it in the long run.”

Develop practical, people-focused skills to lead with impact.
