Postgraduate Certificate in Philosophy

For more than a decade, Clarissa led the non-profit Teach for the Philippines, however, she really wanted to explore deeper questions, especially around morality and leadership, and was driven by a longstanding passion for philosophy, so she stepped down in 2023. “I’m not sure that humanity is predominantly good,” she reflects. That uncertainty led her to philosophy, searching for frameworks to navigate complexity and leadership responsibility.

Studying for the Postgraduate Certificate in Philosophy brought a fresh perspective. “It reintroduced me to logic, discipline, and structured reasoning; tools that are essential at the executive table.”

Balancing study with a busy career, Clarissa needed flexibility. The flexibility of University of Cambridge Professional and Continuing Education (PACE) study made it possible to keep learning without stepping away from her commitments. “The structure allowed me to challenge ideas in a thoughtful way, while still staying grounded in the real-world decisions I had to make.”

For Clarissa, the course has been “a journey” - one she’d happily embark on again. She’s now exploring further study with Professional and Continuing Education and speaking with her professor about where philosophy might take her next.
