Dominic was drawn to our MSt in AI Ethics and Society for its unique blend of academic challenge and practical relevance, along with the opportunity to study part-time while continuing to work full-time at NatWest Group.

“Professional and Continuing Education was the only university to offer the Master's in AI Ethics and Society, and it was fascinating,” he said. “The ability to do it part-time in the residential/home structure has also allowed me to continue working full time.”

For Dominic, the diversity of the cohort was one of the most valuable aspects. “I loved the people on my course and the course leads,” he said. “Given most students are working full-time, there's an incredible array of diversities in seniorities, roles, and industries, which makes the seminars and residentials fascinating and adds a whole new element to academic learning.”

The course not only expanded his academic thinking, but directly shaped conversations at the highest levels of his organisation. “I've sent all my essays to senior people in NatWest Group, and they've been received very well, often changing key stakeholders’ views on topics such as nudging and shareholder voting in 'Big Tech'.”

He even helped bring those ideas to a wider audience. “I also ran a panel on Gender and AI with one of the professors, with over 200 employees in attendance.”

“It taught me a new way of thinking,” he reflected. “And developed many skills and knowledge which I've found very useful in my day-to-day work.”
