Archaeology courses

Venture into the fascinating world of archaeology, where we study the people of the past through the traces they left behind.

Learn archaeology with us

Deepen your understanding of ancient (and some more modern) cultures through the study of different societies in different periods. Consider aspects such as their religious and ritual beliefs, death and daily life. Focus on the big, and not so big, questions and learn how to compare cultures around the ancient world. You’ll study key artefacts, and learn about major case studies and lesser-known sites. You’ll also develop your analytical and critical thinking skills.

Part-time courses for every kind of learner

Our archaeology courses are part-time, so you can study around your work and life. Whether you’re starting to explore the subject or are more experienced, we offer a range of options:

  • in-person weekend courses
  • short online courses
  • online undergraduate qualifications (some of which alternate year-to-year)

Interactive learning with leading academics
