Biography

Dr Tim Forman is a Senior Research Associate and Senior Teaching Associate and Deputy Course Director of the Interdisciplinary Design for the Built Environment postgraduate course at the Cambridge Institute for Sustainability Leadership (CISL) in the University of Cambridge.

Tim has a multi-disciplinary background in the built environment sector, with experience in the construction, architecture and engineering sectors. Tim’s research and teaching interests relate to the agenda for rapid transition of professional practice to meet sustainability and resilience priorities, and he is particularly interested in challenges associated with existing buildings and designing and constructing to meet future climate conditions and changing social needs. Tim’s teaching and research are focussed on the roles of designers, engineers, constructors and operators in meeting these challenges and on the value of interdisciplinary collaboration in delivering better and more sustainable buildings and cities.

Tim is a regular participant in industry and policymaker roundtables, debates and panel discussions. He is a member of the UK Centre for Moisture in Buildings and its technical working group for retrofit, provides research consultancy to industry, and is a member of the Edge built environment thinktank.
