For Miranda, the opportunity to study archaeology through University of Cambridge Professional and Continuing Education offered an ideal balance of flexibility and academic rigour. Living between Mexico and Canada, she needed a programme that could accommodate both distance and a mature student’s schedule, without compromising on quality.
“As a mature student, I was able to apply and take part in a programme despite being based overseas and lacking the time and money for a full-time undergraduate programme,” she said. “I love studying archaeology.”
She was especially inspired by the calibre of the teaching. “I appreciate that the academic team are some of the very same who teach in the University of Cambridge’s colleges, so I feel that I'm getting a real, high-quality education,” she said.
The programme has also opened up new professional possibilities. “There are so many options opening up to me because of this programme,” she said. “My main goal is to achieve a certificate that will help me find work at archaeological digs or in related research.”
